We are seeking an experienced and patient-focused Specialist Gastroenterologist to join our healthcare team in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, treating, and managing patients with gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary disorders, while providing high-quality, evidence-based and patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive consultations, medical histories, and physical examinations for patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
- Diagnose and manage disorders involving the esophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
- Manage common and complex conditions including GERD, gastritis, peptic ulcer disease, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, hepatitis, fatty liver disease, and other GI disorders.
- Request, interpret, and correlate laboratory tests, imaging, endoscopy, histopathology, and other diagnostic investigations.
- Perform or assist with appropriate gastroenterology procedures within the physician's licensed scope and competency.
- Provide appropriate pre-procedure and post-procedure patient management.
- Develop individualized treatment plans and communicate diagnoses, treatment options, risks, and follow-up requirements clearly to patients and families.
- Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely medical records.
- Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, internists, and other multidisciplinary teams when required.
- Participate in clinical meetings, quality-improvement initiatives, audits, and continuing professional development.
- Follow applicable UAE healthcare regulations, clinical guidelines, infection-control standards, and facility policies.
- Maintain professional licensure, credentialing, and continuing education requirements.
Requirements
Qualifications
- MBBS, MD, or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
- Recognized postgraduate qualification in Gastroenterology and/or Internal Medicine with appropriate gastroenterology specialization.
- Relevant experience working as a Gastroenterology Specialist.
- Valid DHA license/eligibility or eligibility to obtain a Dubai professional license.
- Meets the applicable UAE Professional Qualification Requirements (PQR) for the Specialist title.
- Current professional registration and relevant Good Standing documentation, where applicable.
