Data Analyst – Financial Markets Infrastructure
Goodman Masson is partnering with a new financial markets infrastructure venture under formation in Oman. Backed by prominent institutional investors, the business is building a greenfield post-trade platform from the ground up and is now hiring during the build phase.
This is a rare opportunity to join a business at the start of its journey, helping establish the data management, validation and governance processes that underpin a critical piece of financial market infrastructure.
The Role
We are looking for a Data Analyst to join the Operations Control function, supporting the management and governance of reference data and market data across the business.
You will play a key role in ensuring that critical standing data, including instruments, participants, accounts, settlement banks and calendars, is accurate, complete and maintained through controlled and auditable processes.
You will also be responsible for verifying published market data, including post-trade transparency data and published rates, while helping ensure that external market data is appropriately sourced, licensed and validated.
Working closely with Operations Control and data owners across the business, you will help establish consistent data quality standards, clear ownership and robust governance arrangements to support the platform's operational integrity.
What You'll Do
- Maintain and validate reference data covering instruments, participants, accounts, calendars, settlement banks and other critical standing data.
- Process and document reference data amendments through approved change control procedures, ensuring all changes are properly authorised and evidenced.
- Verify published market data, including post-trade transparency data and published rates, before release.
- Validate external market data consumed by the business, ensuring appropriate sourcing, licensing and quality checks are in place.
- Support the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, including clear ownership, defined quality standards and controlled change processes.
- Identify data duplication and inconsistencies across systems, helping improve data quality and establish a reliable source of truth.
- Investigate data quality issues, discrepancies and unauthorised changes, escalating exceptions to the Head of Operations Control where required.
- Work with internal data owners and operational teams to resolve data issues and maintain consistent standards across the business.
- Liaise with external market data providers on sourcing, licensing and data quality queries as required.
- Maintain accurate records and supporting evidence to ensure data changes and validation activities are transparent, traceable and auditable.
